In addition to promoting oral health awareness throughout Bluffton-Okatie, Jasper County and the surrounding communities that support us, we love to show our gratitude to our local heroes.
First Responders
Dr. Abell and the staff of Harbor Point have the deepest respect and admiration for our local firefighters, police officers, EMTs and all first responders. We sometimes bring them lunch to show our thanks for their service.
Jasper County Sheriff’s Department K9 Unit
We have a special fondness for the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department K9 unit. Those pups are not only super smart and very cute, one of them even presented us with a Certificate of Appreciation. (We suspect some of their human teammates may have helped.)
Teachers
Our local school teachers do so much in service to kids and their families. Harbor Point likes to show our vocal support for education. We even sometimes offer small gifts to teachers to thank them for all they do for our community.
Healthcare Workers
As a member of the healthcare community, Dr. Abell has always supported other practitioners. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Harbor Point has expanded our support for healthcare heroes by taking lunch to local hospitals and cheering on their life-saving work.
Supermarket Heroes
Harbor Point Dentistry recognized the bravery of our supermarket workers who risked exposure to the coronavirus daily to feed our local community and we did so in the most unusual way! We partnered with Ben & Jerry’s to hand out a summertime treat to thank these heroes for their service. Only a pandemic could bring together dentistry, ice cream, and love!
SOAR Special Recreation
Dr. Abell is a proud financial supporter of SOAR, an organization that provides Special Olympics sports and recreation opportunities for individuals with disabilities throughout the Lowcountry. SOAR does wonderful work enhancing the lives of the people they serve.
Dr. Abell also supports these organizations, whose influence reaches far beyond our local communities.
