How We’re Keeping You Safe

Harbor Point Dentistry places the health and safety of our patients and team first and foremost. We will continue to do so during the COVID-19 pandemic and will always go beyond the standard of care for safety and infection control measures.

What We’re Doing

Our Waiting Room Is Closed

All patients will receive an e-mail prior to their appointment with an outline of the current protocol in place. Patients are provided with socially-distanced seating at our indoor entry way.

Frequent Surface Disinfecting

Harbor Point Dentistry has always gone above and beyond frequent surface disinfectant measures utilizing the highest quality of antibacterial and antiviral products. All surfaces are regularly and thoroughly disinfected.

Pre-Appointment Health Assessment

We are surveying every patient to assess possible symptoms, risk of exposure to the coronavirus (which causes COVID-19 disease) and history of travel. We are also assessing every patient’s temperature with an infrared, no-touch thermometer.

Staff Temperature Checks

All Harbor Point staff members are subject to temperature assessments twice daily.

Antimicrobial Rinse

Per ADA guidelines, all patients will rinse with an antimicrobial rinse and hydrogen peroxide to reduce airborne pathogens.

Modified Treatment Procedures

Aerosol producing procedures will be limited to reduce the risk of pathogen transmission through air or water vapor. These include the use of ultrasonic scalers, dental hygiene polishers, and certain dental handpieces.

COVID-19 Rapid Testing

We may recommend testing for COVID-19 based on ADA guidelines and availability of testing materials.

What We’re Asking of You

There are three ways you can help us maintain the health and safety of our staff and patients:

  1. New patients are asked to complete your new patient paperwork prior to your dental appointment.
Our office provides safe and secure electronic submission of paperwork. Paper forms may be mailed to you upon request. Electronic submission is encouraged to reduce person to person contact during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  2. To reduce the risk of coronavirus transmission, please have a seat in the socially distanced waiting area per CDC guidelines.
You will be greeted directly by your healthcare provider at the time of your dental appointment.
  3. Please do not bring a companion to your dental appointment if possible to reduce foot traffic at our office.

We understand you may need special assistance and will certainly make exceptions as needed. Companions will be screened per ADA guidelines.

We set the expectations high for you so you don’t have to!

Your healthcare provider will also handle all of your scheduling and financial needs to limit person-to-person contact for you. We also get the door for you as you leave; you are guided through our office with compassion and ease!

We’re Always Here for You as Your Healthcare Provider and Neighbor

Much has changed in the time of COVID-19. While these new safety protocols are necessary for your safety, Harbor Point Dentistry remains dedicated to providing our signature “coastal, relaxing feel” for our patients to the greatest extent possible!
